Roland Bolduc, with two NTDC Grand Championships on his mantle, was the main feature on the front page of TheTrucker.com on August 13th. Driving in the 5-Axle division where he finished second last year to eventual NTDC Grand Champion David Comings, Roland bumped into PodWheels Executive Producer Greg Thompson not long after the 2026 Massachusetts State Champion had finished his semifinal run in Pittsburgh.

Roland, who is beginning to consider retirement and speak openly about it, told Greg about his time on the driving course at NTDC 2026. Always a first-class competitor and someone who never fails to make time for others, Roland didn’t dwell on what could well have been the last run at NTDC of an all-time great.

As Roland talked with friends and well-wishers, asking about their families, Greg found the moment to be one of those that helps to define the NTDC Community and how it comes together. Greg then wrote a story for TheTrucker.com that looked back at Roland’s day on the driving course in Pittsburgh, his many years of competing in the NTDC program and how his example and achievements have helped to contribute to the NTDC Community in countless ways over the years.
