#PlanetGreg and The Eugene: Podcasters Get Podcasting on NTDC
April 21, 2026

At The Top

A PodWheels Column

We’ve had some really good duos throughout history. Batman and Robin. Pinky and the Brain. Ren & Stimpy.

Truman Capote and The Swans. Michael and Scottie. Lewis and Clark. The list goes on.

And here we are. With the Road to NTDC 2026 off to a strong start, we thought it to be an opportune time for some blatant self-promotion. (We are promoting ourselves.)

We give you: #PlanetGreg & The Eugene.

The hosts of NTDC’s official podcast, which lives happily on PodWheels, need to make it clear to you good people that we are #PlanetGreg (pronounced: hashtag planet greg) and The Eugene. In broadcast lore, think of it as Mike and the Mad Dog. Or Opie and Anthony – or in our case, say it with me: #PlanetGreg and The Eugene.

For a deep meaning behind our monikers – there isn’t any. We, at NTDC media headquarters, are angling for a fun vibe, as well as silly nicknames to promote fun. We have learned that a fun work environment can be productive 🙂

Speaking of which, at the start of the new National Truck Driving Championships season, a quasi-closeted tournament, hopes and dreams seem far and probably out of reach. Waking up early on a Sunday might not truly feel fun. Practicing long hours, studying the book, can not seem fun.

That’s why we offer a quant strategy to help you get to where you want to go. To prepare for your state tournament. Or, if you already qualified for nationals, the following formula for potential success might be useful: Prepare, Organize, Execute, all under the mindset of flexibility. The key is to always remain flexible. On the organization part, begin with what’s easiest in practice and competition and work your way to the hard stuff. Be flexible–allow ample opportunity for learning. Ultimately, keep it fun. This has been #PlanetGreg and The Eugene.

That’s all for this week. Hit us up with updates and/or to say ‘hi” at [email protected]. And remember, “I’ll see you at the top.”
